We headed to St. George Thursday afternoon to meet up with my parents for some 4-wheeling and good 'ole fashioned sunshine. Carsen was so excited to see his Pa and Gigi. (I think they were a little excited to see their two grandkids as well.)
The weather was fabulous and the company was even better. We stayed at a condo that was right by the four-wheeling trail where we headed out for a couple of hours each afternoon. Of course the men were able to slide in some early morning golf...Each evening we ate like Kings and driving home from the trip I swore I was finished eating for the rest of my life. (At least until the next meal came rolling around.)
We asked Carsen what his favorite part about St. George was and he said, "Actually, the brownies." (My parents made brownies and I think he single-handedly ate 75% of them.) He also loved being out four-wheeling and kept asking when we were going to go again. We had to convince him we were dirty enough for one day. I must say that Myka was the best of all. She fell asleep both days!
Funny little story. While we were unloading the four-wheelers from the trailer Carsen was playing on an ant farm. He is only 3, so he doesn't know all the facts of life and that there are good ants and bad ants. He has seen the ants around our house, which are the size of a little crumb...these were much larger and he was very intrigued. He made a game out of stomping on their ant farm. (I know, that's not good. But I do think he may have learned his lesson.)
Minutes later Carsen has climbed up onto the four-wheeler and lets out a scream. We thought he had been burnt by the hot seat. We got him down and he was still crying. We asked him what was wrong and he kept tugging at his bum. Oh boy. We pulled down his pants (and underwear) and there hanging out in the bottom of his undies was a large ant. He had been bit on the bum bum by an ant!

Sunny St. George...and biting Ants!
Carsen loved this CAT. He put on his "man" voice and went to work.
There is nothing more fun than recreating with my family!
Enjoying a little picnic during our ATV excursion.

I'm having a hard time not laughing. Poor Carsen. I hope our next nursery lesson isn't "I am thankful for creepy crawly things."
I hope you have your dancing shoes ready...
Sounds like so much fun. We love to go 4 wheeling. Things like this make such awesome family memories.
St. George.. yes please!! I need a strong dose of the sun! Carsen is a little cutie...I love the ants story! Happy Birthday to Mika too! It's sad when your baby will now be years old instead of months.
Oops.. I mean mYka!
Poor Carsen...I hope his little bum bum is okay! Sounds like you guys had a good time with your family in St. George....and why am I not surprise that golfing was involved on your trip?
By the way, did you get my email on the Donald Trump Golf Course???
Looks like lots of fun --I'm glad you got to escape this yucky weather and enjoy sunny St. George.
Carsen's story is hilarious - I can totally see him being interested in those large ants, but I think you're right, he probably knows better now than to mess with an ant hill!
Oh my heck your parents look fabulous! Shoot I miss your dad! What a good guy- Looks like you had a great time in the sun…
Ok, so in reference to your “ Am I a Bad Wife” comment… you are so funny! I have to agree though I HATE it when Alex goes on his “Bike Trips” he is gone forever it seems. I love having him go and enjoy doing things that he loves to do I think that its important that everybody maintains some sort of activity without there spouse after they get married… but my rule is every time he goes and plays that means I get a girls day to play. Of course I don’t take a whole weekend though I wish I could. But remember absence makes the heart grow fonder! Just make him do the dishes and housework for the next week while you enjoy a little much deserved time off =).
Love ya women!
P.S.
Your kids are adorable!!!
What a fun time! I bet Carsen will never play with Ants again...he will be afraid for quite some time. Maybe even have "nightmares" about them...lucky you. (I know Coop would)
Your parents look so Great. I swear they haven't changed or aged a bit since I was a teenager.
Looks like a fun trip.
Oh my gosh!! That's too funny about tha ants in his pants... so fun to get away to the warm weather to play! That's a definately bonus of having your parents live in warm weather.
