The older Myka gets, the more she and Carsen 'play.' Carsen tends to be a bit of a bossy older brother. (However, he is also very sweet with her. The other day I heard him say to her, "Are you okay sweetheart" when she had fallen down.) But when he's being bossy, he will tell Myka not to eat the dirt and scold her for doing so. (Let's be honest, she eats dirt and bark....I can't stop her and I figure it can't hurt her too much. She'll learn.) Because she is not walking yet (she has taken 6 consecutive steps....and everyday she walks more and more...so I am hoping it is just a matter of days) everything is right at eye level...so it goes straight to the mouth. In the meantime, she has worn through several pairs of pants.
The other day the sun was shining and it was hot (not today...the rain is here for now). I put the kids in their swimsuits so they could run (or crawl) through the sprinklers. Myka wasn't too excited about the cold water, but Carsen was ecstatic! After playing for a bit they shared a Popsicle, which was mostly consumed by Carsen with Myka squealing for more licks.

Oh my goodness. Cutest kids, I mean really the other day when Carsen was riding bikes with the kids I loved how he was being so cute to Myka. He is a great big brother!!!
The bark and dirt is good for her immune system:) At least that is what you need to keep telling yourself, so you don't get so grossed out!! All kids have done it once or twice in their life. Right?????
What a cute little brother and sister!! I think being bossy just comes with the territory of being the oldest... trust me, I speak from experience :)
so adorable!
They look so darling in their little suits. Too bad the weather isn't like that anymore...it is freezing out there. Carsen is such a good bro to Myka, I keep telling you, he reminds me a lot like Cooper when he was that age.
I love your new banner picture! You have such an adorable family! I'm glad the weather was warm for you up there...well at least for a couple days right!
I love how little kids love their siblings. It's so awesome and so cool to see as a mom. I'm bummed I missed the yard sale, but I don't need anymore "stuff" so it's probably for the best. :) When is the weather going to be consistent? Yikes, welcome to Utah!
So excited for the race!
I feel your pain with the dirt and bark. I've finally decided to just let Kendra go for it. I can't pull things out of her mouth all summer long, and eventually she'll learn that dirt and rocks are gross. My other two didn't walk until 15 months and 17 months, so I have a feeling we are in for a long summer with Kendra, lot's of filthy clothes and holes in the knees.
Hey Ms. Keysha....love your posts!!!
The joys of children! That Carsen is way too cute. I love how he called Myka "sweetheart"....that is so adorable!
I wish I could have been there at the yard sale...I would have been Kristen's #1 customer on those sugar cookies...yum, yum!
And can Chad find something more constructive to do with his time besides building sheds, adding stairs to patios and finishing basements. Seriously, Keysha, he is slacking!!! What is he going to do next....build a swimming pool? (You know I am only kidding)
being a nice big brother...enjoy it while it lasts...then comes the teasing and annoying her part...and I don't think that will go away until they are teenagers or adults...I was at the "Oh so cute Kade is being so sweet to Jadyn!" Now it is "Stop bothering you sister, stop annoying her, stop teasing her!" Yep enjoy it you still have a few years before the other part comes. They are adrable little tikes! Hope all is well!
Your back! Yay! I love your new look on your blog. Cute pics of the kids. I love the summer time and letting the kids play in the little pool. I can't believe Myka is walking soon- she just seems so little! We definately need to get together to watch Troop Beverly Hills. Its been a while since I've seen it.
looks like so much fun, sad I missed the two nice days this spring.... oh where have the days gone?
That is so sweet! I love it when they start actually playing together! I'll bet they'll be best friends and so close. I don't think anything makes me happier as a mom than to see my kids being kind and having fun with each other.
Hey Guys, I got to your blog from Jared and Jill's. You have the cutest family! We have a new blog. Check us out at cedarcityspringers.blogspot.com. By the way I can't believe you are friends with the Sorenson's. Small world! Take care. Kelly S.
You have the cutest kids. It looks like you guys have been having a lot fun.
Hello Peck family it has been a while. Your family is so cute. I agree with you dirt is not the worst thing. Once brooklin ate a worm. That i did try to prevent from happening again:)
