Hey Baby, Let's go to Vegas....

Why not? We haven't been gone enough (or spent enough on gas) the month of July, so we decided to leave early Thursday morning and drive to Las Vegas. Actually, there was a legitimate reason for going; my dad was called to be a Bishop (Ha! Serves him right for being such a good guy!) Sunday was the big setting apart, so we really wanted to be there to support him. He is now the Bishop over a Singles Ward! (How exciting for he and my mom! Right?) Interesting little tid bit...they were in the process of applying to go to China to teach English next year. They had their applications all filled out and then he received this calling. So, they are cancelling China for now and staying put in Vegas. I'm not sure which I prefer... I was really hoping they would be back up in Utah within the next year; but no such luck. Now he will be even more tied down and won't be coming down as often either!

So, we decided to make the most of our trip. Pa went and bought the grandkiddies new Razor Scooters, which they rode constantly. And of course pretty much the entire weekend was spent in the pool. (Except for the times we were able to drag ourselves away to go eat at In-N-Out Burger and stuff our faces at the Planet Hollywood Buffet....Oh my delicious crab legs!) The weather was beautiful and the company was even better. Kye, Kelly and the kids were there to support my Dad too. The kids always have such a good time together and never stop playing the entire weekend--they usually sleep a good majority of the drive home.

We talked about going to see "The Dark Knight", but Kye wouldn't let us go see it until we had first watched "Batman Begins." He said we had to know the story behind it. I loved "Batman Begins." If you haven't seen it....see it. Just us youngens went to the movie and left my parents home with 5 kids! (It was my mom taking care of the older 3 and the new baby and my Dad had to single-handedly watch Myka. I know...she's a handful)!

It was a wonderful weekend, and a very special one for my Dad. We were so glad to be there with him and to see his new ward...He is going to be an awesome Bishop and his ward is going to love he and my Mom.

How exciting for your family! Your Dad will be a wonderful Bishop and his ward is going to love him! He is such a great guy! It's so fun there are 5 little cousins so close in age. Myka is killing me! I wish I could meet her in person. She sounds like a sweet little FIRECRACKER!!! Enjoy her spunk!

Family, food, and swimming in the sun what more can you ask for? Looks like you enjoyed yourselves with your parents.
I actually have been back to the gym a couple of times in the morning and one night. But I started feeling a little crampy and had some pain last week so I decided I would take it easy until that subsided...hopefully I can get back its really been hard not to go, but I have to keep this tyke in for a little bit longer and hopefully he doesn't pull the same thing his brother did :) Maybe we should get together at a park first of next week and let the kiddos play. Let me know what you think.

What a fun weekend. I bet it was awesome to spend all the days in the pool lounging around...with help from your parents. And the in-N-Out isn't bad either:)

Your dad is going to be so awesome! He is such a great guy and those single adults will just eat your parents up. They will love them!

I'm not one bit suprised that your dad is a new bishop of a singles ward! He will be awesome! Your mom will be adored, too! You must be so proud:)

I loved your family reunion post! Camping is so much work with little ones, but lots of fun, too. Myka and Logan are at the same stage (since they're only a few days apart!) Busy, busy, busy! But so much fun, too. Logan pulls a similar face when I pull out the camera, too! Oh, and you went on a 15 MILE bike ride??!! You are amazing!

We're really excited for your Dad and his new calling-Robb laughed alot upon hearing that news. You have to admit, that it's better than having your parents in China! This is their mission for now and they'll do great. Love the scrunchy face on Myka. Aunt Kathi

I think it takes an extra special person to be the Bishop in a singles' ward. Good for your Dad. What a guy!

Just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday! Thanks for wishing me the same yesterday! I always thought it was SO cool that our birthdays were a day apart! It seemed much better when we were kids though. ENJOY your day and do whatever you please... It's the only day you can TRY to get away with it (besides mother's day)... Hope it's a good one!! the big 26!

Kirtly is going to do great as a bishop of a single's ward. My father-in-law just got released from the bishopric of our singles ward and he's pretty excited to be back in "the real world".

He will be awesome! I loved my singles ward bishop, in fact we had a little reunion at his house with a bunch of our old ward, just like a year and a half ago.

Their ward will love them and your parents will totally grow to love the kids too.

Myka sounds fun!

You were in Vegas and I didn't even know it?! Ooh...you're in big trouble! ;) Glad you had fun, despite the 110 degree weather!

Next time you come down, I'll meet you at In N Out for some delicious grub!
