I feel like I haven't done a 'real' post for a while telling all the fun and festive October things we have been doing. I love this time of year--especially when the weather is pleasant and crisp. Everything about fall is delightful and here's just some little things we have been doing:
Party On!
Last Saturday we went to Hannah's birthday party at Thanksgiving Point. Wow! What an amazing party! It was held at the Children's Discovery Center and the kids had a blast. The best part was we adults were invited too! Trisha knows how to throw a party; and this was no exception!
Myka spots a balloon
(Marcy, Me and Trisha (the ultimate party planner!)
Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Big and Round
Can I just say how much I am loving preschool; and I don't even attend! Carsen is learning so much! He has memorized two poems (which I really need to post on here, because they are absolutely adorable!) and everywhere we go now he always says things like, "Light starts with 'L'." (He'll go through everything around us and tell me what they start with! He will even tell me what letters he sees in signs... Such a little smarty.) Best of all...he is excited to go! (Oh, and I get 2.5 hours to play with Myka!) Hooray.
One great thing about his preschool is the field trips they take once a month. This month they went to a neighboring Pumpkin Patch. I love the fieldtrips because I get to come along and see who these kids are Carsen is always talking about in his class.
A Quick Moment at Gardner Village
My friend Marcy is a planner and a goer. I envy her for her constant plans--and while I'm on the subject she is NEVER late. NEVER. She has three kids, always looks adorable and arrives to every location on time (or oftentimes early to stand in line for tickets or hold spots for us late comers). Incredible. She always has something planned and is so wonderful to invite lots of friends to come along to enjoy the fun too.
This outing was no exception. Gardner Village was having an event called "Little Witches" and kids were supposed to come dressed in their costume and 'mill' around the little village and visit all the witches and enjoy the ambiance. Well, it was PACKED. I think every kid in the Salt Lake Valley was there displaying their Halloween costume. (I was lucky enough to score an awesome parking spot...good thing since prompt Marcy was already there waiting for me. I think I about ran 20 people over in the process of securing my lucky parking spot...but at least I didn't have to walk 3 miles!)
We lasted about, oh, 30 minutes and then decided we had enough of the crazy chaos. We loaded up and grabbed some lunch at a drive-thru and let the kids run amok out at a park while we basked in the beautiful October sun and solved all of life's problems.
Here's a preview of Myka and Carsen's costumes. Myka a Kitty Cat (we bought the costume when she was going through her scratching stage). And Carsen is the Hulk (of course). They loved getting their costumes on and Myka was so patient with me painting her little nose. However, as soon as we got there she wanted the top of her costume off.

I think my expression says it all!

Looks like so much fun!! I love this time of year too!! Your kiddies are so cute!! I can't believe halloween is just around the corner! Love your cute hat!!
Oh wait!! I saw two cute hats!!
LOVE that last picture of you- makes me laugh. That's every mothers feeling/thought. Fun October events! I love this time of year as well.
So we're coming home around the
18th of December and staying until like the 4th of Jan. And did you know that Leslie is planning on blessing baby and Ellie is getting baptized the first weekend in Jan? They are doing that to kind of plan family being able to be there. JAred and Candi are coming too. So I think we're doing the family get together over new years like we did last year. I THINK anyways. HAvn't talked about it much with mom.
Love the costumes...especially Carson's. I was at that crazy place today also and better yet I drug Shane there. We went to buy a couch at Down To Earth without even knowing it was a halloween party. We lasted about the same amount of time as you- I don't know who was more tired the kids or us right!?
I really like the picture of Myka with her little lip stuck out. How cute!!
Oh..Kesha I just got back from Gardner Village..you said it PACKED!!! It was a zoo. But it was fun for about the first 30 min, and then we were done as well. Funny Carsen is HULK, thats what Tanner is as well..Boys will be boys :)
OMGosh. reading your blog I felt like I was reading about my future life. You are inspiring me to get going on some classes I have wanted to take - namely photgraphy! For a while I used the excuse that we didn't have cali licenses yet, and now its because we are in the middle of a semester...when really I haven't even looked into it. I love the fall pictures, I wish it felt more like fall here! Finally love and logic, I love it! I have some materials and was fortunate to get some training while I was a counselor. It's true sometimes you forget what to do in the heat of the moment and there are SO many difference circumstances...anyway this probably should have been an email not a comment so that's all for now~
I heard it was packed! You're an awesome mom to do such fun things with your kids.
We love Gardner Village but that place can get to be quite crazy sometimes!! Looks like you made it through and had some fun!
I am with you on the field trip/helping in class thing. I love seeing who everyone is and who the boys are playing with. And don't think I'll stop doing that either the older they get!
Can Myka just be so stinkin adorable!!! I love that little girl! And I love her little kitten costume with her cute kitten nose.
Carsen is all boy. I don't think I saw him remove that mask once that day!
I love your kids....you produce gorgeous children!
All of the fun October festivites I missed out on. Lots of fun.
I am sure Hannah's party was the bomb, Trisha sure does know how to plan them, bummed we missed it.
Your kids costumes are looking pretty cute or should I say SCARY...I can't believe October will be over like in a week and a half...to fast.
Love the last picture Keysh! Ha, thats exactly how I feel as well after I take the kids out. Just add another pumpkin face in those arms and that is me all the way! You look FABULOUS! I don't think I have ever seen you this thin. Gotta love that training!
Love Kate
Cute costumes! Love that last picture of the three of you :). Can you believe I've never been to Garnder Village... I've always wanted to go, but will have to remember not to try at Halloween!
fun, there is always so many fun things to do in october. are you doing the trick or treats street again?
Amen about Marcy!! She is the most organized person I know! I hope to be like her when I grow up! I'm sad I missed the parade, but can only imagine the craziness on that day. I went with my sisters yesterday and it was still insane, what was I thinking?
