Day #15...I LOVE a clean house (and don't mind cleaning)...BUT...with two little munchkins running around all day, keeping my house clean feels like a never-ending project. Which is why I LOVE these cleaning products; they make my life much easier.
This little beauty (The Magic Eraser) is the reason for today's post. Myka decided this morning before church that my walls were a coloring book. I could hear her in the office talking to herself and I thought she was sitting at the little desk coloring. The coloring part I got right--just not where I though it was. Thank heavens for the Magic Eraser--the little sponge whipped that crayon right off the wall. (Of course there is the downfall to this product; it tends to take a bit of paint off the walls too...but I'm willing to deal with the paint loss as long as my walls don't have crayons on them!)
You know those sticky little messes left all over your floor after meal time....gone in a little swipe! This Don Aslett mop was an infomercial purchase back in the day when Myka was a little baby and I would wake-up in the middle of the night to feed her. I had nothing else to do [while sitting there for 40 minutes] so I would usually watch QVC or TLC. Fabulous find! I even bought my mom one and insisted she buy my sister-in-law one as well. This is much better than the 'Swiffer' because you can throw the microfiber cloths in the washing machine and re-use them over and over again. Plus, it really cleans the floor quickly and efficiently (and without a lot of residue-leaving products)! I LOVE QVC and Don Aslett!

These three dusting products go hand-in-hand. I LOVE them! I seem to be attracted to dust-producing furniture, because I always see dust. The Method dusting spray (found at Target) along with the Guardsman dusting clothes (found at Bed Bath and Beyond) are a match made in heaven. They clean my wood furniture so well! I have all black bedroom furniture, and they leave my room sparkling clean (for about 7 days).... I constantly have little fingerprints all over my computer desk and kitchen table, and these perfect cleaners wipe them away in an instant!
I LOVE the little swiffer duster for those in-between jobs when I just want to do a quick 'surface' clean.
Last but not least, I LOVE Clorox disinfectant wipes. So simple, yet so effective. These are great for cleaning up little messes or wiping off door handles, countertops and other surfaces. Plus, they smell so fresh and clean.
****On that note...anyone know how to get gum out of carpet? I found a nice little wad of gum in my basement last night, and I am trying to find the best way to get it out before I start putting too many chemicals on it. Darn kids!

There is a few different ways on there - I'd try ice first! What a mess. I still won't let my kids have gum, they always end up swallowing it anyways!
Great cleaning tips - I love hearing about products other people like and use! Sounds lame, but nothing beats a clean house! Ahhhhh...
Great post Keysh. I LOVE those magic erasers as well. Last year when we were in Poky- Jace drew ALL over our wall going up the stairs with a blue crayon. ARRHH!!! So I couldn't have done it without those erasers. And I want that QVC mop! And about the gum.....I have no idea, but I bet you'll get some good ideas from people. All I can think of is to use peanut butter, but I'm pretty sure thats just for removing it from hair- that probably wouldn't mix well with carpet. :-)
So, this is how you keep your home so immaculate? Reading this post just makes me want to spring clean my home!
Sorry to hear about the gum...it better not have been my Eden who did that! Unfortunately, I wouldn't know how to remove the gum from the carpet. But, I did use olive oil one time to remove gum from Hannah's hair and it worked...perhaps you can try a little of that! Good luck!
Keysha, this post makes me want to invite you to come and clean my house!
No wonder why your house is always so immaculate. I like to clean when there are no kids in the house and I can turn my music up and just go for it...and then the kids have to stay away for a couple of hours so it stays clean for a little bit. I love my Don Aslett mop too, thanks to you!!
Gum, I am with Kristen, try some ice, harden it up and then try to get most of it out.
I love Mr Clean sponges too. They are great on shower doors. And I have to get more info on that mop thingy. I so need that!
I did a similar post to this last February and included some of the same things! My bedroom set is black too and I LOVE IT, but I don't love the dust it collects so quickly. I'll have to try the Method spray and the dusters from B&B. Swiffer dusters are already a cleaning staple...as is the mop. LOVE IT!
Oh and as for the gum there is a product called Goo-be-gone. Just a couple little squirts and the gum comes right up. Both my kids are 'grounded' from gum until they're 5! Ellie got it in her hair and Benson's was on the floor! ARHHH!
It sounds like you are cleaning expert! Do you want show your sweet skills at my house? Jared is trying to keep up with the things I am not able to do right now. Oh, how it needs a woman's touch!:)
I have the Don Aslett mop and I totally agree with you. It is a great find.
I'm going to have to get that mop... I've been through about 5 since we moved into this house because I can't find one I like. I love cleaning too... but it's becoming apparent that my clean house won't ever last long with Easton around!
I've loved reading all your "love" posts. I had to leave a comment on this particular post because it brought back a funny memory-- I remember cleaning with you in your house with orange scented pledge. Your mom would have us pledge everything! Especially the big long wooden rail that went up the stairs! I think about that almost every time I see pledge. I'm glad you are still a cleaner! I have to admit that I am too!
